16. Tove Lo, “Disco Tits”
I was a little sceptical with Tove Lo put out the new single “Disco Tits” this past summer. At first it felt a little too close to the minimalist dance music of Jessy Lanza, to the point where it was distracting. As the months wore on, the track wriggled its way into my head. With its simple hook, stripped-down arrangement (courtesy of the profitable production team The Struts), typically bawdy lyrics, and a very funny video, it was another reassertion of Tove Lo’s growing reputation as a cutting-edge, risk-taking pop star.
